Minister of Transport and Works, Michael Henry, is urging pedestrians to be street smart, as they traverse the island’s roadways.
This appeal formed part of the Minister’s message, delivered by Executive Director of the Island Traffic Authority, Paul Clemetson, at the launch of Scotia Bank’s newly re-branded Street Smart, Street Safe Road Safety Programme, at the Half-Way Tree Transport Centre on September 10.
“Pedestrians, our most vulnerable users, have been virtually under attack by the motorised public. This category of road users constitutes the highest proportion of all road users killed in traffic accidents,” the Minister noted, adding that approximately one in three persons 14 years and under, accounts for as much as 33
