The Full Story

Over 330 exhibitors across multiple productive industries are expected to showcase their goods and services and connect with local and international buyers at the Jamaica Manufacturers and Exporters Association’s (JMEA) Expo Jamaica 2027.

The four-day event, under the theme: ‘Jamaica Creates, the World Connects’ will be held from April 15 to 18, 2027 at the National Arena and National Indoor Sports Centre in Kingston.

Speaking at the launch on Wednesday (October 14) at the Hyundai showroom in Kingston, JMEA Executive Director, Kamesha Blake, said that the event will include webinars, workshops, practical business sessions covering areas such as packaging, pricing, revenue, export and market access especially for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSME).

Ms. Blake said that speed networking and business matching engagement sessions will be held on Friday, April 16 between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm to connect businesses with procurement interests.

“Part of the feature of this show [Expo Jamaica], is to ensure that our exhibitors meet buyers…not just in Jamaica, but across the region,” she pointed out.

“Expo Jamaica will provide that platform to have these procurement people in that space,” she said, noting that “we want to move beyond exchanging just business cards to creating business opportunities.”

She issued a challenge to manufacturers ahead of the speed networking and business matching engagement sessions, to ask themselves what they are producing and bringing to the table at Expo Jamaica 2027 and take their answers with them to share with persons procuring Jamaican products.

Ms. Blake noted that Expo Jamaica is being held at a time when the country is rebuilding after Hurricane melissa.

“It must be a platform for us to recover, innovate and grow. There is no doubt that brand Jamaica is powerful. Our creativity, our culture, our authenticity, our entrepreneurial spirit are recognised across the world, but recognition is not enough. We must convert that recognition into more products, more services, stronger businesses and economic value,” she said.

She noted that “in rebuilding our economy, we must ask ourselves, how do we ensure that recovery does not simply restore what we had but it creates a stronger, more productive and a more competitive Jamaica. For us at JMEA, Expo 2027 must be a part of that answer.”
