The Full Story

The Ministry of Science, Energy, Telecommunications and Transport (MSETT) is advising prospective suppliers that the Government will only acquire buses for the Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) if they have undergone testing and meet the required standards.

Testing can only be done according to the JUTC’s ability to conduct the structured evaluation process.

Consequently, all potential suppliers must have a formal agreement with the JUTC before importing buses.

Additionally, they must secure written approval from either the JUTC or the Ministry before proceeding with shipping.

This measure ensures that all buses acquired for the JUTC meet the required safety, efficiency, and operational standards, in alignment with the Government’s commitment to maintaining a reliable and high-quality public transportation system.

Suppliers are urged to adhere strictly to these guidelines to prevent any complications in the procurement process.
