The ODPEM has received reports that the phenomenal rise in water levels experienced in Manchester has resulted in further flooding to the Comfort Hall Main Road in Mile Gully.
A pond located in the area has risen to road level. The area has been rendered unsafe for vehicular traffic until the water recedes. The situation is compounded by a gully in close proximity to the pond where there is the likelihood that motorists may misjudge the road surface.
The alternative route is Mile Gully to Bushy Park to Greenmount to Medina to Freetown to Beverley to St. Paul to Balaclava. Motorists are being advised to exercise caution as this alternative route is narrow and winding.
It is also advised that heavy-duty vehicles ply the route, Spur Tree to Santa Cruz to Balaclava.
