The Full Story

The National Water Commission (NWC) is pleased to announce that work to improve the water supply to the Browns’ Town communities is progressing with the installation of pumping equipment (columns, and cabling) to a depth of nearly 800 feet.

Based on the remaining work, the project is now slated to be completed on February 22, 2025- one week later than the original date published.

This critical project, valued at JMD 60 million, includes the installation of a newly dug well, which is expected to significantly reduce the persistent water supply challenges faced by residents of Brown’s Town and its environs.

Once operational, the well will enhance the reliability and consistency of water distribution, providing much-needed relief to households and businesses in the area.

The NWC acknowledges the patience and understanding of residents throughout the duration of the work and remains committed to delivering sustainable water solutions.

Customers will continue to water supply via the interim distribution schedule or trucking arrangements. In addition, they will be provided with further updates as the project nears completion.

Customers are encouraged to stay informed through NWC’s official communication channels, including the Toll Free-888-225-5692, NWC Mobile App, website, and social media platforms.
