NWC Makes Amnesty Programme More Accessible Through Mobile App

Customers can now get valuable information and assistance about the National Water Commission’s (NWC) Amnesty Programme by using the NWC’s Mobile App, which can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Already, the app facilitates bill payment, service applications and other services.

Now, it will provide direct access to detailed information about the Amnesty Programme.

The use of the NWC’s Mobile App is one of several ways the NWC is making it easier for customers to benefit from the Amnesty Programme.

Last week, the Commission launched a dedicated email address – amnesty@nwc.com.jm – to facilitate queries about the programme.

In addition to the new email address and the mobile app, customers may still get information about the programme by visiting an NWC office, calling the customer service team via the toll-free line 888-CALL-NWC (888-225-5692) or visiting the NWC website at www.nwcjamaica.com.

The ongoing Amnesty Programme is a key part of NWC’s ‘Bucketful of Goodies’ campaign, which also includes the Customer Relief Measures initiative and the NWC’s Bill Free Promotion.

The campaign ends on March 31, 2025.

Under the Amnesty Programme, residential customers whose accounts have been disconnected for six months or more are eligible for a waiver of reconnection fees and a 50% write-off on their debt, provided they pay the remaining 50%.

Additionally, pensioners and PATH beneficiaries can benefit from a 100% discount on debts older than two years, whether their accounts are active or inactive.

For those struggling with arrears, the NWC’s Customer Relief Measures provide further reprieve, offering discounts of 25% to 50% based on the age of the outstanding debt.

The Commission is also giving customers a chance to win a share of $7.6 million in cash and prizes in the NWC’s Bill Free Promotion, which also runs until March 31, 2025.

Through this promotion, 350 residential customers who pay their bills on time and in full during the promotion period will each receive $20,000 in water credit.

Additionally, three lucky customers who register for NWC’s e-bill service and meet the payment requirements will share a prize pool of $600,000 in cash.
