The Full Story

The National Water Commission (NWC) is pleased to announce the extension of its Amnesty Programme for an additional two months, allowing customers more time to benefit from significant debt relief and reconnection waivers.

In assessing the number of queries submitted over the past three months, the NWC acknowledges and understands there are challenges faced by many customers.

The new deadline of May 31, 2025 provides additional time for those in need to access assistance and have their applications processed.

This extension provides continued access to the following key initiatives:

Residential accounts disconnected for six months or more will benefit from:-

  • a 50% debt write-off upon payment of the remaining 50%
  • A waiver of reconnection fees

Vulnerable Groups- Pensioners Programme

Pensioners, Programme of Advancement Through Health and Education (PATH) beneficiaries, and individuals living with disabilities

  • 100% discount on debts older than two years (applicable to active and inactive accounts)
