Nurses in the public sector will resume normal duties following an Emergency Conciliation Meeting held today (Wednesday, September 16, 2015) at the Ministry of Labour and Social Security in Kingston.

The meeting was held between representatives from the Nurses Association of Jamaica (NAJ), and the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service.

There is an understanding that:

  1. There will be full resumption of work no later than the 7:00 a.m. shift on Thursday, September 17, 2015.
  2. An early meeting will be convened between the Nurses Association of Jamaica and the Ministers of Finance and the Public Service (Honourable Peter Phillips and Honourable Horace Dalley) and the Minister of Health (Honourable Fenton Ferguson) to address outstanding concerns of the NAJ.
