Chief Executive Officer of the Real Estate Board, Phillip Chambers, says no one will be disenfranchised by the new Client Facilitation Unit.

The Full Story

The Real Estate Board (REB) says no one will be disenfranchised by the creation of the Client Facilitation Unit that will serve dealerships with more than 50 salesmen.

This reassurance comes amid concerns that some salesmen and dealers may be overlooked when the Unit begins operations in the new licensing period that will begin on March 31.

“No dealer, or salesman for that matter, will be disenfranchised. They will continue to be serviced generally by the Board’s Customer Service Officers, the Applications and Licensing Department, as well as the Inspectorate,” Chief Executive Officer of the REB, Phillip Chambers, told JIS News.

Mr. Chambers informed that the new Unit is only one of several measures that are being exercised by his entity to improve ease of doing business.

With its implementation, organisations with more than 50 salesmen will be assigned a specific officer to assist with all matters, including registration and renewals.

Each will be provided with the name and contact details of the officer.

“The Board is confident that this approach is the most efficient and effective means of dispatching its team of officers, thereby covering a wider cross-section of practitioners,” he said.

The Real Estate Board is the government regulator of the real estate sector, with responsibility for the training, registering and licensing of real estate dealers and salesmen, and the (re)registration of land developers.
