The National Land Agency (NLA) has launched a series of Mobile Land Information Clinics, aimed at educating and empowering government employees across the nation.
Serving as one of the NLA’s priority projects for the 2024/2025 fiscal year, the inaugural staging of the Land Information Clinic was held at the Office of the Prime Minister on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Speaking at the launch, Manager, Marketing and Public Relations at the NLA, Nicole Hayles, shared that throughout the year, several sessions will be hosted across various government entities.
“We’ll be going to selected government entities and we will be assisting workers with addressing their land queries. Too often as government workers we are working and toiling to address the concerns of the general public, and so, we saw it fit to go into these entities and address the issues that the workers might have,” Ms. Hayles said.
The Land Information Clinics will address a diverse range of land-related issues, including the registration of properties under the Registration of Titles Act, survey and mapping issues as well as those pertaining to land valuation.
Government entities interested in participating in these sessions are being encouraged to send an email to publicrelations1@nla.gov.jm.
All emails should be sent with the subject line ‘NLA On The Move’.
Once a visit to an entity has been confirmed, employees will be asked to take with them all relevant documents to assist with their queries.
“We are here not only to serve the public but also to serve the officers that work for the Government of Jamaica,” Ms. Hayles said.
