A new park will be developed in Mandeville, Manchester, by the National Housing Trust (NHT) to commemorate its 50th anniversary.

This was announced by Prime Minister, Dr. the Most Hon. Andrew Holness, during his contribution to the 2025/26 Budget Debate in the House of Representatives, on March 20.

“Recognising the profound impact of Emancipation Park (Kingston) and Harmony Park (St. James), in providing a space for recreation, wellness and community engagement, the NHT will commemorate its 50th year milestone by developing a new park in Mandeville, the centre of the island,” the Prime Minister said.

He added that for this special year, the Trust will also award 50 scholarships, instead of the usual 10, under its scholarship programme.
