The Ministry of Education has advised that the Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT) scheduled for Thursday March 26 and Friday March 27, 2015 is to commence at 9:30 a.m. on each day at all examination centres.

The decision to shift the usual start time of the examination from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. is to facilitate schools that are directly affected by the smog emanating from the fire at the Riverton City Disposal site. The Ministry has been reliably informed that the smoke nuisance appears early in the morning and abates by 9 a.m.

All Presiding Examiners are advised to begin at the approved time in order to protect the integrity of the examination.

The Ministry of Education appreciates the attention given by school administrators and parents to the safety and care of all our children affected by the smog. The Ministry also recognizes the support and understanding extended by parents and students who have not been directly impacted by the adverse conditions.
