New Parking Arrangements for Heroes Day Ceremony at King’s House

KINGSTON — As a result of the inclement weather affecting the island, and which is expected on the day of the National Honours and Awards ceremony, to be held at King's House on Monday, October 17, alternative parking arrangements have been made for persons attending the function.
Recipients of honours and awards will park at the Office of the Prime Minister, using the Devon Road entrance; Government Officials on the Table of Precedence will park along the driveway at King's House, and guests will park at the Police Officers' Club on Hope Road.
A total of 152 outstanding Jamaicans, who have contributed to nation building, will be recognised at the ceremony.
The Order of Jamaica (OJ), the nation's fourth highest honour, will go to six nationals, who have given distinguished service in various fields.
They are: Dr. Gladstone Raymond Chang, for contribution as a business leader and philanthropist in the financial, health, education and cultural sectors; Hugh Hart, for service to the bauxite and alumina industry and the legal profession; Peter Moses, for service to the private and public sectors and community development; Frank Phipps, for contribution to the legal profession; Molly Rhone, for service in sports administration; and Ambassador Douglas Saunders, for contribution to the public service.
