The Government has reappointed lecturer and researcher in Instructional Systems Design & Technology in Education, at the Institute of Education, University of the West Indies, Mona, Dr. Moses Peart, to chair the new Board of the HEART Trust/NTA.

Dr. Peart also serves as Chairman of the Curriculum Committee of the Joint Board of Teacher Education (JBTE).

Making the announcement at a Jamaica House press briefing at the Montego Bay Convention Centre, in St James, on June 17, Minister with responsibility for Information, Senator the Hon. Sandrea Falconer, said Cabinet has approved the appointment of the new Board for the HEART Trust/NTA for the period July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2018.

Other members include: Dr. Wayne Wesley, Mr. Rickert Allen, Brigadier Rocky Meade, Mr. Steven Whittingham, Mr. Gresford Smith, Dr. Pauline Knight, Mr. Barrington White, Mr. Adrian Spencer, Rev. Fr. Kingsley Asphall, Ms. Verica Bennett, Dr. Fritz Pinnock, Dr. Grace McLean, Dr. Seymour McCulloch, Mrs. Maya Johnson, Ms. Shereen Jones, Mrs. Scarlette Gillings, Ms. Nadene Chambers, Mrs. Grace Baston and Mrs. Olivia Campbell.

In similar vein, Chief Executive Officer of Mayberry Investments, Gary Peart, has been reappointed to chair the new Board of the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Commission (BGLC).

Senator Falconer said the new Board will also include Vice Chairman, Mr. Linton Walters, Mr. Peter Reid, Mr. Jeffrey Mordecai, Major Vincent ‘Dave’ Anderson and Mrs. Monique Harrison-Beckford.

The new Board will serve from June 1, 2015 to May 30, 2018. The BGLC regulates and control the operations of betting and gaming as well the conduct of lotteries in the island.
