The Full Story

The National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) will be conducting clean-up activities at two prominent locations for International Coastal Cleanup Day 2024.

This annual global event, which champions the preservation of oceans and coastlines, will take place on September 21 and 22, beginning at 7:00 a.m. at the Palisadoes Shipwreck in Port Royal and the Half Moon Bay Beach in St. Catherine, respectively.

To help remove debris and litter from the shores and safeguard the marine ecosystems, NEPA is inviting the public to join these crucial beach cleanup efforts.

To register or obtain more information, please reach out to NEPA’s representative, Ebonique Blair, via email at eboniqueblair@nepa.gov.jm or by calling (876) 754-7540 Ext. 3118.

Both group and individual registrations are highly encouraged.

The NEPA remains committed to environmental protection and sustainable development in Jamaica.

Through initiatives like International Coastal Cleanup Day, the agency continues to highlight the importance of preserving the natural resources for the benefit of future generations.
