Natural Resources Management Forum for Mandeville

September 15, 2003

The Full Story

Persons residing in the parish of Manchester are being invited to attend a Natural Resources Management Forum, to be held at the Golf View Hotel in Mandeville on September 25 beginning at 5:30 p.m.
The forum is being organised by the Research Consortium, a group consisting of the Northern Caribbean University (NCU), the University of the West Indies (UWI), University of Technology (UTech), the Scientific Research Council (SRC), the Institute of Management Sciences (IMS) and the Institute of Management and Production (IMP).
One of the main purposes of the consortium is to bridge the information gap between current research activities in a number of “top institutions” and to publicise the relevance of such research to the wider society.
The forum, which will be held under the theme, ‘The management of our natural resources,’ will entail panel discussions on topics considered to be of national importance given their impact on the social and economic development of the island.
Areas to be examined are air, soil and forests, water and animals including the marine environment.
