The theme of the two-day conference is: ‘Data Protection, Financial Services and Customer Awareness’.

Participants will hear presentations from State Minister in the Ministry of Science, Technology, Energy and Mining, Hon. Julian Robinson, as well as Chief Information Officer in the Ministry, Dr. Louis Shellal.

There will also be presentations by representatives from the banking, legal and cybersecurity fields, who will focus on cyber threats, and how to prevent them.

The conference will outline to patrons how to protect their digital records, with specific emphasis on banking and online financial activities.

Day one of the conference will focus on cyber challenges and best practices, while day two will deal with cyber threats and protection measures.

On day two, there will also be workshops and demonstrations by security experts on how to combat cyber threats.

The Government recently formed a Cyber Incident Response Team, and published a Cybersecurity Strategy document earlier this year. The Cybersecurity Act is also being amended.
