Expansion works at Mount St. Joseph High School in Manchester are expected to conclude in the upcoming fiscal year.

Approximately $853.7 million has been allocated to complete the administrative, third- and fourth-form blocks, as well as commence and complete the auditorium.

The sum is earmarked in the 2025/26 Estimates of Expenditure, which was tabled in the House of Representatives by Minister of Finance and the Public Service, Hon. Fayval Williams, on February 13.

Up to December 2024, construction of the administrative block was 10 per cent complete, while the third- and fourth-form blocks were 15 per cent complete.

The project, which commenced in April 2015, is slated for completion in March 2026 following two timeline extensions.

The National Education Trust (NET) is the implementing agency for the Education Transformation Programme, which has the objective of providing additional classrooms to alleviate the shift system and overcrowding in schools.
