Montague to Spend Working Day in St. Thomas

Minister of State in the Office of the Prime Minister, with responsibility for Local Government Reform, Robert Montague, will be spending a working day in St Thomas on September 15, to meet with Councillors and staff of the St. Thomas Parish Council.
Addressing the monthly meeting of the St. Thomas Parish Council, Acting Secretary/Manager, Naudia Crosskill, said the State Minister would meet with the Mayor, Councillors and senior members of staff in the morning, and also representatives from several agencies, such as the Fire Department, the Ministry of Health and the National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA).
In the afternoon, the State Minister, along with the Mayor and other senior officers of the Parish Council, will visit the Morant Bay market, the infirmary, the Social Development Commission’s (SDC) office and other areas.
Later in the evening, Mr. Montague will speak at a public meeting, scheduled to take place at the Anglican Church Hall in Morant Bay, where he will hear concerns from citizens regarding the Local Government Reform process. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m.
