Residents of Moneague, St. Ann can take advantage of the FREE “Beyond the Horizon” medical and veterinary fairs being hosted by the Ministry of Health in partnership with the United States Embassy until May 20, 2009. The team conducting the medical fair was at Faith Tabernacle earlier this week, and will be at the Lime Hall Community Centre from today until May 16 and the Moneague College from May 17 -20, 2009.
The Veterinary team will also be at the Lime Hall Community Centre from today until May 16, and from May 17-20 they will be located at PRC Traders. The event begins at 8 am and ends at 4 pm each day.
The series aims to promote healthy living habits and provide free medical care to residents of St. Ann and neighbouring parishes. “We are pleased to be associated with the United States Embassy in this health initiative. From this series, we hope to inform, educate and empower individuals to adopt healthier lifestyle behaviours,” said Dr. Sheila Campbell Forrester, Chief Medical Officer.
A wide range of free medical services will be available including eye tests, dental checks, blood pressure and blood sugar tests.
Beyond the Horizon is a U.S. Southern Command initiative that includes humanitarian and civic assistance projects, as well as construction and renovation projects designed to promote co-operation between the United States and Jamaica.
