MIAMI — Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce, Hon. Dr. Christopher Tufton, will be guest speaker at the second quarterly ‘Movers and Shakers’ breakfast meeting of the Jamaica USA Chamber of Commerce (JAUSACC), slated for July 28 in Florida.
The Minister is expected to address the audience, gathered at Jungle Island in Miami, on developments and investment opportunities in Jamaica’s agricultural sector, with a focus on agri-business.
The breakfast meeting, which is being held in conjunction with the Consulate General of Miami, provides yet another opportunity to create linkages between the business communities in Jamaica and South Florida. Information will also be provided on investment prospects in the area.
Dr. Tufton is also expected to visit several Jamaican-owned businesses in South Florida, including LEASA Industries, South West Broward Vegetable Growers Association, and manufacturers, distributors and retailers of Jamaican food products.
As JAUSACC reaches out to a wide cross-section of businesses to attend the breakfast series, Chamber President, Marie Gill said that “the quarterly event will provide opportunity for persons to meet influential movers and shakers and create new contacts, who could have an impact on the growth of their businesses."
“The networking event will also review the importation of Jamaican agricultural products to the United States and local production of Caribbean produce,” she added.
Launched in March 2004, under the auspices of the Consulate General of Jamaica in Miami, JAUSACC is committed to the creation of trade opportunities for its growing membership, and the strengthening of national, regional, and international commercial relationships between the United States and Jamaica.
JAUSACC is an affiliate of the Association of Bi-National Chambers of Commerce (AIBCC), which is comprised of 40 Caribbean and Latin American community-led national chambers as well as the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce.
