The Honourable Olivia “Babsy” Grange, Minister of Information, Culture, Youth and Sports, MICYS) is calling on the Press Association of Jamaica (PAJ) to ensure that the memories of journalists such as Norman Cuff are carefully preserved and that their record of performance is held up for examination and emulation by the succeeding generations of journalists.
Minister Grange described the late journalist as one who was totally dedicated to his craft and whose versatility enabled him to work effectively in both the print and electronic media.
Minister Grange said she remembers Mr. Cuff as a dogged reporter whose editor could depend on him to produce the story under just about any condition. “He was journalist who was not afraid to work the ‘trenches’, she said.
The Minister said she was deeply saddened by Mr. Cuff’s passing at the relatively young age of 55.
