Minister Baugh to attend 5th special meeting of the Council of Ministers

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, the Hon. Dr. Kenneth Baugh will depart the island today (February 21) for Grenada, where he will join his CARICOM colleagues in several high level meetings, in particular the 5th Special Meeting of the Community Council of Ministers which is to be held from the 23-24 February 2011.
The 5th Special Meeting is a follow up to the 27th Meeting of the Community Council of Ministers held last month in Guyana. Issues arising from that meeting will therefore be discussed in the upcoming days. These include: the consideration and approval of the 2011-12 work programme and budget of the CARICOM Secretariat; a review of the governance of CARIFORUM; the prioritising of the focus and direction of the community and the coordination of foreign policies, with particular focus at this time, on developments in the Middle East.
Following on the heels of the Community Council Meeting, will be the 22nd Inter-Sessional Meeting of Heads of Government from the 25th -26th of February, which is also to be held in Grenada.
