Minister of Tourism, Edmund Bartlett will be the guest speaker at the eighth annual anniversary banquet and fundraiser of the Florida-based Fellowship New Testament Church of God, which is slated for Friday, December 12.
The Minister is expected to speak about Jamaica’s tourism industry at the event, which will be held at the Plantation Hotel and Conference Centre in Sunrise.
Jamaican national and pastor of the Church, Bishop Dr. Fedlyn A. Beason, will be honoured at the event.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will continue support for community projects throughout South Florida, as well as provide assistance for less fortunate Jamaicans in the Diaspora. The church supports projects such as World Missions International, Habitat for Humanity and the Broward Outreach Centre for the Homeless.
The church membership of nearly 300 has a large Caribbean congregation, the majority being Jamaicans. Jamaican national and church member, Fred McLeod, said that the audience is looking forward to interacting with Minister Bartlett as Jamaicans in the Diaspora are passionate about the welfare of their homeland.
