Major Renovations at National Stadium

Minister with responsibility for Sports, Hon. Natalie Neita Headley, says the National Stadium in St. Andrew is slated to undergo major renovations over the next three to five years.

The Minister, who made the announcement while making her contribution to 2013/14 Sectoral Debate in the House of Representatives on June 5, said the works will include the modernisation of the stadium’s infrastructure, increased seating capacity and improved facilities for patrons.

In this regard, certain specific capital projects have been identified, such as the renovation of parts of the bleachers, the installation of improved toilet facilities and improvement of concession areas.

Mrs. Neita Headley pointed out that based on the financing available; the projects will be implemented over the next three to five years and will be carried out by Independence Park Limited.
