KSAMC Refurbishes Public Sanitary Facilities in St. Andrew

Sanitary facilities at Gordon Town Square and Rocky Park in Harbour View, St. Andrew, have been refurbished by the Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC) and are now open to the public.

This undertaking forms part of the KSAMC’s ongoing efforts to improve public amenities and ensure that communities have access to clean, safe and well-maintained facilities.

Speaking during the Corporation’s recent monthly meeting, Kingston Mayor, Councillor Andrew Swaby, advised that the KSAMC had signed Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with the respective community groups to assist with the maintenance of the facilities.

He noted that the initiative reflects the Corporation’s commitment to partnering with local community groups to ensure the sustainable maintenance and continued improvement of public facilities.

“The KSAMC cannot and should not undertake the responsibility of maintaining our communities alone. When local community representatives are actively involved, there is a greater sense of ownership and accountability, issues are identified more quickly, and the Corporation is better able to respond to the needs of the residents,” Councillor Swaby maintained.
