KSAMC Equipping Staff to Advance in Their Jobs

The Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC) has partnered with Excelsior Community College to provide access to training programmes for employees.

Mayor of Kingston, Councillor Andrew Swaby, said the training will ensure that staff gain valuable skills and have the necessary qualifications to advance in their jobs.

He was addressing Tuesday’s (March 11) monthly council meeting of the KSAMC, held at the Jamaica Conference Centre in downtown Kingston.

Mayor Swaby informed that the Corporation is subsidising the fees for the programmes of study, which will allow participants to earn an associate degree in two years, and secure permanent employment.

He highlighted the KSAMC’s commitment to employee stability and professional growth.

“No KSAMC employee should remain in a temporary contract position indefinitely. Stability is key, and qualification matters,” he said.
