The operational capacity of the Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation (KSAC) has been boosted with the acquisition of some 40 portable tablet computers, valued just over $400,000.
The tablets have been equipped with the KSAC’s LoveCleanKSA interactive mobile technology application, and are expected to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness with which the Council’s officers deliver its services.
These include activities in the areas of building, planning, compliance and revenue collection, as well as those undertaken by the Parish Disaster Co-ordinator.
The application will enable the officers to, among other things, capture, relay and archive imagery and other data on developments and matters being pursued and undertaken.
It also allows the KSAC to share information on matters outside of its portfolio with agencies having responsibility for same. It also facilitates general public participation in the monitoring process, by allowing them to download the feature on a GPS-enabled device. In so doing, persons will be able to make reports to the KSAC on matters deemed necessary for remedial action.
