The Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) has announced that routes that will revert to the company with the start of the reform Sub-franchise system on Tuesday, 1st April 2014 are Numbers 3, 17Express, 19A, 31A, 32 and 42.

Route 3 is from Christian Gardens to Downtown; Route 17Express is from Greater Portmore to Cross Roads via Downtown; Route 19A runs from Greater Portmore to Papine; Route 31A is Duhaney Park to Downtown via Marcus Garvey Drive; Route 32 is Dunhaney Park to Downtown via Half Way Tree while Route 42 is Constant Spring to Downtown.

The JUTC says that with its taking back of these routes, the licences of the Sub-franchisees affected will expire as of March 31, 2014.

Franchisees are now expected to operate only on routes that have been approved for them by the JUTC in the reformed system.

Although the reformed Sub-franchisee system is effective from April 1, 2014, the Franchisees have been given a one-week extension until April 8 to regularize their buses, which includes colour-coding and making payments only on the routes for which they were approved.
