The Jubilee Market in downtown Kingston is scheduled to be renovated next month, Mayor of Kingston, Councillor Angela Brown Burke, has announced.

Mrs. Brown Burke informed that plans are being finalised between the KSAC and the Urban Development Corporation (UDC) for the refurbishment of the facility, which was destroyed by fire several years ago.

“Initial discussions have been held with the Jubilee vendors and they are being advised to register at the Redemption Arcade, which was earmarked for them,” she said.

Mrs. Brown Burke noted that a meeting is scheduled for next Monday, March 18, at 2:00 p.m. at the Jamaica Conference Centre, where details outlining the opening of the Redemption Arcade and the conditions for occupancy, will be fully addressed.

“This will also mean that the Redemption Arcade is expected to begin operations by April 1,” the Mayor said.
