KINGSTON — Cabinet has approved the extension of the advertising and public relations contracts of the Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB), until January 31, 2012.
They have been extended to Ruder Finn Inc; McCluskey International Limited; and DraftFCB.
Speaking at yesterday’s (June 8) post-Cabinet press briefing at Jamaica House, Minister with responsibility for Information, Telecommunications and Special Projects, Hon. Daryl Vaz said that during the last two years, there were a number of incidents that led to the need for a recovery campaign.
This campaign also included bringing over 2,000 travel agents to Jamaica. “Over this period, all three agencies have given excellent service. The process for tendering these contracts is complex and lengthy, and the extension will afford sufficient time to undertake this procurement process in a thorough manner,” he said.
The contracts were awarded on the recommendation of the National Contracts Commission and the Infrastructure Sub-committee.
