A Joint Select Committee of Parliament, is to deliberate on the Credit Reporting Act of 2008, which was tabled in the House of Representatives recently, by Minister of Finance and the Public Service, Audley Shaw.
The Bill seeks to provide for the sharing of credit information between specified bodies, the licensing of Credit Bureaus and for connected matters.
Addressing the House of Representatives on Tuesday (September 9), Minister Shaw said the Committee would comprise Karl Samuda, Clive Mullings, Marisa Dalrymple Phillbert, Dr. Omar Davies, Phillip Paulwell, Peter Bunting and himself, from the Lower House.
“This Committee will sit jointly with a similar Committee to be appointed by the Senate, to consider and report on the Bill,” the Minister said.
Mr. Shaw also pointed out that the draft Regulations, which were tabled in the Lower House, would be referred to the Committee.
