The Jamaica Information Service (JIS) copped the Press Association of Jamaica (PAJ) Best Human Interest Television Feature Award, for its production of ‘Haiti in Distress’, at the PAJ’s National Journalism Awards Banquet, held at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel, New Kingston, on December 3.
Videographer, Omar Green, also won the Ken Dawson Award for Videography, for his work in the production of the feature.

Mr. Green was part of the JIS’ five-member team that went to Haiti in the aftermath of the January 12 earthquake, to film the footage that went into the feature’s production. Other members of the team were: Andrea Chisholm, Kerron McCalla, Maurice Brown and Michael Kerr.
