The Jamaica Information Service (JIS), in collaboration with Emoquad Internet Services and Cable & Wireless Jamaica Limited, will be webcasting the funeral service for the Hon. Louise Bennett-Coverley on Wednesday, August 9, beginning at 2:00 p.m. via its website at www.jis.gov.jm.
It is projected that more than 200,000 persons, both local and overseas, will be logging on to view the funeral via the webcast. As such, the JIS has created additional links with the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission (JCDC), the Jamaica National Heritage Trust (JNHT) and the Ministry of Industry, Technology, Energy and Commerce (MITEC).
Members of the public may also watch the webcast on www.jcdc.org.jm, www.jnht.com, or www.mct.gov.jm.
The official funeral service for the Folklorist, Writer and Actress will be held at the Coke Methodist Church at East Parade in Kingston.
The body of Miss Lou arrived in the island on August 5. Miss Lou, who died in Canada on July 26, will be buried at the National Heroes Park on August 9.
