The City of New York will be the stop for the Jamaica Promotions Corporation’s (JAMPRO) 2016 Road Show USA (RSUSA).

The five-day event, from March 14 to 18, is aimed at promoting brand Jamaica in the American marketplace, including the high-quality manufactured goods, agro-processed foods and fresh produce.

Targeted are buyers from supermarkets/hypermarkets, food service, institutional and travel retail, and independent retailers.

JAMPRO launched its Road Show USA in 2014, with the first event held in Florida. The second show took place in 2015 at venues in Atlanta and Texas.

JAMPRO’s Vice President of Export and Market Development, Robert Scott, told JIS News that the overall objective of the programme “is to increase export sales through greater penetration of existing core markets, by pursuing new opportunities, identifying additional distribution points, and developing and managing sustainable relationships.”

“Roadshows provide the perfect forum for in-depth presentations to small, target audiences.  It provides the perfect mechanism for live and direct interaction (business-to-business meetings and other networking activities) with the target market,” he pointed out.

“A Roadshow will also provide the intimacy required to develop hands-on, long-term sustainable relationships, and ultimately repeat purchasing,” he added.

JAMPRO expects that the Road Show will serve to boost export sales and increase market penetration.
