The Public Relations and Environmental Health and Safety Departments of Jamalco, the bauxite and alumina company in Clarendon, will stage a Community Health Fair, tomorrow (February 26).
The fair will take place at the Glad Tidings Church of the First Born, New Bowens, Halse Hall, in the parish, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
This is in keeping with the company’s emphasis on environmental health and safety. Health services will be provided by the company’s medical team from the Environmental Health and Safety Department.
Residents of Top Halse Hall, New Bowens, Hunts Pen, Bottom Halse Hall and neighbouring communities will benefit from free medical screening, to include blood sugar and blood pressure checks, weight monitoring and eye examinations.
Persons will also be counselled on ways of maintaining good health, and correctly monitoring and treating current illnesses.
