Jamaica to Conduct Reviews In Keeping With Corruption Conventions

October 21, 2011

The Full Story

KINGSTON — Cabinet has approved the review process to be undertaken by Jamaica to implement the provisions of the United Nations, and Inter-American Conventions against Corruption.

The move is in compliance with obligations under the Conventions of which Jamaica is a state party, said Minister with responsibility for Information, Telecommunications and Special projects, Hon. Daryl Vaz.

He was addressing journalists on October 19 post-Cabinet media briefing held at Jamaica House.

Mr. Vaz explained that the review will, among other things, allow for the sharing of best practices and challenges, promotion of universal adherence to the Conventions, and identification of possible difficulties.
