Minister of Information, Culture, Youth and Sports, Olivia Grange, has said that the country has much to learn from the Spanish in heritage conservation, emphasising that the preservation of the Jamaican culture is paramount.
“I feel we have great deal to learn from the Spanish expertise in heritage conservation. Clearly it arises from a deep and abiding respect for heritage, a prioritization of tangible culture. The conservation and preservation of the tangible culture of our country must be a central priority of this administration and certainly of my Ministry,” Miss Grange said.
She was speaking at the handing over ceremony for the late Osmond Watson’s restored painting entitled, ‘De Lawd is My Shepherd’, at the National Gallery of Jamaica in downtown Kingston, yesterday (June 27).
The painting was restored by Professor Antonio S
