Isaac Expected to become a Hurricane by Thursday

At 4:00 a.m. the centre of Tropical Storm was located near Latitude 15.5 degrees north and Longitude 57.3 degrees west or about 445 kilometres east of Guadeloupe.
Isaac is moving toward the west at 30 km/h and this general motion is expected to continue for the next couple of days. On the forecast track, the centre should move through the Leeward Islands this evening and move over the northeastern Caribbean Sea on Thursday.
Maximum sustained winds are near 75 km/h, with higher gusts. Strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours and Isaac could become a Hurricane by Thursday.
The Meteorological Service will continue to monitor the progress of Tropical Storm Isaac.
