The Full Story

Students and teachers preparing for the upcoming Primary Exit Profile (PEP) and Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations will benefit from two free mathematics workshops.

The sessions, scheduled for February 26 and 28, are being organised by the Institute of Jamaica (IOJ) through the National Museum, Jamaica (NMJ). Assistant Lecturer in the Mathematics Department at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Dr. Ajani Ausaru, will lead the workshops, providing participants with innovative and efficient methods to tackle maths challenges and improve exam performance.

Education and Outreach Officer at the NMJ, Alexis McDavid, in an interview with JIS News said the workshops are designed to address the urgent need for effective mathematics intervention.

“Our goal is to ensure that both teachers and students who participate in these workshops leave with enhanced strategies for success in their assessments,” she noted.

Ms. McDavid said that due to overwhelming response to the registration request the workshops will be held in-person at the IOJ Lecture Hall, 10-16 East Street, Kingston, and via livestream on the NMJ’s YouTube channel.

The session for PEP pupils will take place on February 26, while CSEC students will be accommodated on February 28.

Online participation for PEP students is via https://youtube.com/live/18vqChS389M?feature=share, and https://youtube.com/live/Uhia9JTT1OM?feature=share for CSEC students.
