HI-PRO LAUNCHES NEW PRODUCTS TO BOOST AGRICULTURAL SECTOR
KINGSTON, Aug. 5 (JIS):
Four new products have been launched by Hi-Pro to improve crop and livestock production as well as to boost farmers’ profitability.
They are: a larvicide spray called Ectoline; TryClan 50 SP insecticide; a plant nutrient and foliar fertiliser called HerbaGreen; and LongRange, which is designed to control parasites in livestock.
Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries Minister, Hon. Karl Samuda, congratulated Hi-Pro, a member of the Jamaica Broilers Group of Companies, for its foresight in the development of the products.
“I’ve watched this company grow and there is great admiration for the leadership offered by Robert Levy. Hi-Pro is always looking out for the well-being of the farming community by bringing out new products and …always seeking to improve on existing products,” he said.
Mr. Samuda was addressing the launch at the Denbigh Agricultural, Industrial and Food Show in May Pen, Clarendon, on Saturday (Aug. 5).
Operations Manager at Hi-Pro Farm Supplies, Tricia Jackson, noted that the items will reduce the cost of production to farmers and to make farming more profitable.
Transport and Mining Minister and Member of Parliament for Central Clarendon, Hon. Mike Henry, also welcomed the new products.
The 65th staging of the Denbigh show is being held from August 5 to 7 under the theme: ‘Grow What We Eat…Eat What We Grow’.
