The Full Story

The Ministry of Health and Wellness’ ‘Operation Refresh’ has brought significant improvements to the Fellowship Health Centre and the Katus Blakey Dental Clinic in Portland, creating a more user-friendly environment at both facilities.

Medical Officer of Health for Portland, Dr. Sharon Lewis, gave the update during a recent meeting of the Portland Municipal Corporation, noting that staff and clients at the facilities are pleased to see the infrastructural improvements.

“The waiting rooms are now air-conditioned and have better seating, so they are more comfortable. The offices and restrooms have also undergone infrastructural improvements. So, the environment is more aesthetically pleasing, which will be helpful for the ill persons who are seeking medical attention,” Dr. Lewis said.

“Thanks to the Minister of Health and Wellness, the National Health Fund, the contractors, and all the stakeholders who have made these renovations possible,” the Medical Officer added.

Operation Refresh is a $1 billion initiative that aims to enhance the look, feel and utility of selected health centres across the country.

It was rolled out in 2024.
