Residents of Hanover are being urged to take advantage of free dental care through the Great Shape! Inc. 1000 Smiles Project.
The dental team will be in the parish for one week from October 21 to November 1, providing cleaning, filling, extractions, root canal and sealant services.
They will be operating clinics at the Grange Hill Baptist Church and the Anglican Church in Lucea.
Speaking with JIS News on Wednesday (October 2), Executive Director for Great Shape! Inc, Joseph Wright, encouraged the public to take advantage of the free services being offered to them.
“We just want to extend a warm welcome to everyone who can come… our dentists are no-pain dentists. Even if you’re not sure, you come and get a checkup and get the service that you need,” he said.
Hanover is the final of a four-parish stop for the Great Shape! Inc.1000 Smiles Project. The team of international and local dentists and volunteers has already treated residents in St. Ann and Westmoreland.
Since Monday (September 30), residents of Trelawny have been receiving free dental care at the Clark’s Town New Testament Church of God and the Anglican Church Hall in Falmouth.
The initiative concludes on Friday (October 4), and Mr. Wright is appealing to persons to come out to receive “high-quality, state-of-the-art dentistry”.
Great Shape! Inc. 1000 Smiles Project provides free access to dental care and education to families in the Caribbean.
Locally, the team partners with the Ministry of Health and Wellness and the Sandals Foundation to serve local communities every year.
