March 12, 2012

The Full Story

Minister of Justice, Senator Hon. Mark Golding, has informed that the Government is reviewing the Public Sector Master Rationalisation Plan.

“The Cabinet has been briefed by a team from the Public Sector Transformation Unit (PSTU) and the Government is reviewing the (plan),” Senator Golding said.

The Minister was responding to questions posed by Leader of Opposition Business, Senator Arthur Williams, during sitting of the Upper House on March 9.

He also informed that the PSTU is to make a presentation to the Public Sector Modernisation Committee on March 14.

Senator Golding also dismissed claims that the Government has rejected any recommendations made by the PSTU.

“The Government has not rejected any of the recommendations. As the administration moves towards the new financial year, it is expected that the phased implementation of the recommendations will continue,” Senator Golding said.

The Public Sector Master Rationalisation Plan, which contains recommendations for the restructuring of ministries, departments and agencies, was tabled as a Green Paper in the House of Representatives on July 20, 2010, by former Prime Minister, Bruce Golding.
