Overview

The Ministry of Labour and Social Security is responsible for promoting industrial harmony, protecting workers’ rights, and ensuring workplace safety. It regulates employment services, manages work permits and resolves labour disputes. Additionally, the Ministry administers social protection programmes such as the National Insurance Scheme (NIS) and the Programme of Advancement Through Health and Education (PATH), providing support for vulnerable groups, including the elderly, persons with disabilities, and low-income households.
