G-G Delivers 2026/27 Throne Speech on February 12

The Ceremonial Opening of Parliament for Fiscal Year 2026/27 will take place on Thursday, February 12 at George William Gordon House, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
It symbolises the start of a new legislative session.
Governor-General, His Excellency the Most Hon. Sir Patrick Allen, will deliver the Throne Speech, in which he will outline the Government’s legislative agenda and projects and programmes for the upcoming fiscal year, which begins on April 1.
The proceedings will also feature the formal arrival of State officials, members of both Houses of Parliament, and other dignitaries, and will include the traditional inspection of the Guard of Honour.
The 2026/27 Estimates of Expenditure will be tabled in the afternoon, following the ceremonial opening of Parliament.
The ceremony will be broadcast live via the Public Broadcasting Corporation of Jamaica (PBCJ), Jamaica Information Service (JIS) and other media platforms.
