The funeral service for the late junior athlete, Cavahn McKenzie will be held on Sunday, March 16 at the Faith Apostolic Mount Zion Temple in Annotto Bay, St. Mary commencing at 11:00 a.m. Minister with Responsibility for Sports in the Office of the Prime Minister, Hon. Natalie Neita Headley, will represent the Government at the service.

The Government is assisting with the arrangements and will cover the funeral expenses, through the Sports Development Foundation, SDF.

“The Government has committed to lending its full support to the family of Cavahn as they go through this very difficult time,” said Minister Neita Headley.

Cavahn collapsed and died after competing in the North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletic Association Cross Country Championships in Tobago on February 22. His body returned to the island on February 27 and was received by Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller, Hon. Natalie Neita Headley and members of his family.

A memorial service at his alma mater – St Jago High School, on Wednesday (March 12) was attended by the Sports Minister and Trinidad and Tobago High Commissioner, Dr. Iva Gloudon.
