Friends of St. Ann’s Bay Hospital Hosts Dinner to Buy Equipment

The Friends of the St. Ann’s Bay Hospital, in St. Ann, will host their annual Dinner/Dance, on Saturday, June 29,to raise funds to purchase a second Echocardiography (ECG) machine or other equipment needed by the hospital.
The fund-raising event will take place at the Hibiscus Lodge Hotel in Ocho Rios, under the distinguished patronage of Custos of St. Ann, Hon. R.O. Walters and Mrs. Norma Walters.
Keynote speaker at the dinner will be well known medical practitioner, Dr. Audley Betton.
In an interview with JIS News, Friend of the hospital and member of the planning committee, Mrs. Norma Walters, said the organization hopes to raise a minimum of $400,000.00 from ticket sales.
Mrs. Walters said the mandate of the Friends of the Hospital is to support the hospital in any voluntary way they can.
“Not only in terms of equipment, but certainly to encourage professionalism and to let the hospital staff know that the community supports them in whatever they do,” she said.
