Four people were killed when the motor car they were traveling in crashed into a wall on Manchester Road, Mandeville this morning.
Those killed are identified as Richard Suckie, 23, of Marshall’s district, Roshay Young, 20, of Bloomfield Gardens, Roberta Milton, 21, of Poinsettia Terrace and 21-year-old Simone Ford of Lancaster district all in the parish of Manchester. Young and Ford are students of the Edna Manley School of Visual and Performing Arts and the University of the West Indies respectively.
Reports are that about 4:00 a.m., Suckie was driving a 2005 Mazda RX-8 motor car with the three females aboard, along the Manchester Road, heading towards Knockpatrick. On reaching a section of the roadway he lost control of the vehicle, and crashed into a wall. The impact caused the motor car to immediately burst into flames.
The injured occupants who were trapped in the vehicle burnt to death. The police were called and the bodies removed to the morgue for post mortem.
The Mandeville Traffic Department is investigating.
