Kyesha Randall, the 2016 Miss Jamaica Festival Queen, has embarked on the journey of becoming a mentor in the ‘We Transform’ programme.

The We Transform programme is a Ministry of National Security initiative that aims to provide children within the care of the Department of Correctional Services (DCS) with the skills and support necessary to become productive citizens.

Ms. Randall, who was also a 2017 Miss World contestant, was part of a cohort of 45 persons from the public and private sectors who participated in a training session earlier this month at the DCS Training Room in Kingston.

After learning about the We Transform programme from then Minister of State in the Ministry of National Security, Senator the Hon. Pearnel Charles Jr., she has been keen on becoming involved with it.

“When I found out about the programme, I was impressed by its premise and was immediately interested in finding out how I can play my part as an agent of change in the lives of these young persons,” Ms. Randall told JIS News.

According to Ms. Randall, she has always had a passion for motivating youth and is excited about becoming a mentor to be a positive influence for youth.

“I was able to actualise my passion last year when I spearheaded a national tour, ‘Motivation Jamaica’, where hundreds of children across the island were empowered through motivational talks and edutainment packages. I look forward to being a mentor, as it is more personal, and I will now have the chance to have direct interactions with my mentee,” she said
